The number one thing I do when it all feels like it's too much.

Let’s all take a moment and be honest with ourselves shall we?

We’re all kicking ass. Even if it doesn’t feel like it, and you have 1,001 projects looming over your head, that’s okay. You’re doing really fucking great! And if you still don’t believe me, keep reading over that until you believe it. I’ll wait right here.

I know it can take a minute to sink in. I needed to really sit with that idea for a while this weekend. I’m not a fan of trying to be constantly busy or anything like that. In fact, I spend the majority of my time streamlining stuff so I can do more of what I love instead of the things I’d really rather not do. But, I’m currently in a crazy growth stage in my business and life overall. When the universe knows it’s time for you to level up, it doesn’t keep it a secret, or even go the subtle route.

The thing is, if I keep going but keep the level of stress unchecked, I know I’m going to pay the price.

We all have our limits. Funny enough though, the times that are the hardest and most stressful to get through, those are often the make or break times, and we all know, breaking isn't an option.

But...this idea that can we can be superwomen all the time is ridiculous. Notice, I’m not saying we can’t step up to the plate. We’re bold, brilliant, brave, insightful, strong, amazing leaders. And we’re people too.

Recently, I’ve noticed that everything is starting to wear on me. I’ve had so many stress headaches over the course of the last few days. I’ve been stress snacking. I’ve been snippy with my favorite people. And I’ve noticed it.

As leaders and entrepreneurs, we can go 100 miles an hour and tune it all out until we burn out. (pro-tip, a burnt out you is no good to anyone.)

That’s why having the self-awareness about how you’re doing, not just how much you’re doing, is absolutely 100% essential This is especially true for students, entrepreneurs, side hustlers, mompreneurs, and anyone who isn't on a 9-5 salary. Then, once you have the self-awareness to know when things are starting to become too much, you can actually do something about it.

I have a few tried and true stress-relieving, confidence boosting tools I use the minute I notice myself starting to respond out of stress. By consistently using these tools, I’m able to manage everything I have going on and continue to grow without worrying about burning out.
